The proposed development of Harrison’s Point, St. Lucy is a public-private joint venture of Barbados Tourism Investment Inc. and Fairways Development Ltd.. The site has an area of approximately 83 acres with a coastline of approximately 1km in length.

The proposal is a resort hotel based development with associated real estate developments. It will open to the general public for beach access and other amenities. The project will include use of the Harrison’s Point Lighthouse for public recreation and interpretative facilities.

The site has a varied topography including beach plateau, cliff slopes and cliff top dissected by watercourses together with a flat plain.

Outline planning permission has been granted for the ‘Development of Land for Resort Purposes including: Hotel, Apartments, Residences, Coastal Infrastructure works, Recreational and Retail Facilities and Helipad.’ and will incorporate the following components:

  1. An 80 – 120 bedroom hotel and associated facilities such as
    restaurant, pools, spa, business and private function facilities.
  2. Approximately 140 clifftop residential units.
  3. Approximately 15 – 20 residential units on the beach plateau.
  4. Approximately 35 “on the bluff” residential units.
  5. The main residential component will be sited on the eastern
    plain where approximately 100 – 150 condominium units are
    proposed in a high quality landscaped setting.
  6. Lighthouse public recreational park.
  7. The project will incorporate other amenities such as tennis club,
    jogging tracks, hiking trails and residential beach facilities.
  8. Coastal infrastructure works including beach enhancement,
    breakwaters, groyne alterations and an offshore island are
